tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"false\"><div class='widget-content'><h1 >Freshman Applicants<\/h1>\n<p >Students applying for admission to a higher education institution for the first time are considered to be freshman applicants. All students applying for admission to the freshman class of Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t<\/p><div class=\"toggle\">\n\t\t\t<br>\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"toggleTitle acco_plus\">1. File an application for admission<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"hide_accordian\">\n\t\t\t\t<br>\nThe application for admission form contains important information for which the applicant is responsible. Any false information given in the application form will be enough reason to reject said application, unless the applicant is able to prove to the Registrar or the Director of Admissions that such information was given without malice aforethought.<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"toggleTitle acco_plus\">2. Applicants to the PUPR Undergraduate Programs Requirements<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"hide_accordian\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Freshman Applicants&nbsp;must have&nbsp;2.50 GPA or higher.&nbsp;&nbsp;Those who do not can request, in writing, special consideration by the Director of Admissions due to extenuating circumstances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pupr.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/NUEVA-POLITICA-ADMISION-ESC.SUPERIOR-2017.pdf\">NUEVA POLITICA ADMISION ESC.SUPERIOR 2017<\/a><br>\n\n\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"toggleTitle acco_plus\">3. Submit the following documents:<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"hide_accordian\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><\/p>\n<p >\u2013 An official academic transcript from a high school certifying graduation or the results of the high school equivalency examination.<\/p>\n<p >\u2013 An official copy of the College Entrance. Prospective applicants for admission to the freshman class must take the Scholastic Aptitude Test administered by the College Entrance Examination Board, either in English or Spanish. Application forms for the examination may be obtained at the high schools or from the College Entrance Examination Board by writing directly to P.O. Box 71101 San Juan, Puerto Rico 00936-8001. Applicants 25 years of age or older are exempt from this requirement.<\/p>\n<p >\u2013 An Immunization Certificate if the applicants are under 21 years of age.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Foreigners&nbsp;must submit a copy of immigration status.<\/p>\n<p >\u2013 Pay a thirty dollar ($30.00) non refundable application fee. The University reserves the right to require further information from any applicant.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-5592\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Transfer Students<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-5592\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-5592\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><div class='widget-content'><h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Transfer Students<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An applicant who has studied at a recognized institution of higher education may apply for admission as a transfer student. Transfer applicants must have passed no fewer than nine transferable college credit-hours. They will be favorably considered for all academic work completed with a C or higher grade at each prior institution. Transfer credit-hours are limited to work satisfactorily completed at an accredited college or university within a five year period immediately preceding application for admission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A transfer applicant will not be considered if he or she is on academic probation, suspension, or dismissal from the previous institution; if he or she would be on academic probation upon return to the previous institution; or if on disciplinary probation during or following the last term at the previous institution; or within one year after dismissal.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"toggle\">\n<div class=\"toggleTitle acco_plus\">Read more<\/div>\n<div class=\"hide_accordian\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All students who have passed nine transferable credit hours at an accredited college or university prior to applying for admission to Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico must submit:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. An application for admission. An application for admission will not be considered unless received on or before the application deadline indicated in the academic calendar. The institution reserves the right to refuse applications for admission once enrollment limits are reached.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. An official transcript from each institution of higher education previously attended. The transcript should be sent directly from the institution(s) of origin to the Admissions Office. The transcript(s) must furnish a statement of good standing. Student copies of official transcripts are not acceptable. The applicant who is actively enrolled in another institution at the time of application should request a current official transcript to be forwarded immediately. An official transcript, including the final grades of the last quarter or semester of attendance, must be requested and sent to the Admissions Office.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. A copy of the latest edition of the undergraduate catalog from each institution of higher education previously attended.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. Payment of a thirty dollar ($30.00) application fee with the completed application form. The application fee is non refundable and will not be applicable toward the student\u2019s registration charges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5. All transfer students must submit a letter of recommendation signed by the Dean of Student Affairs of the previous institution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">6. An Immunization Certificate (applies only to applicants under 21 years of age).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">7. Foreigners\u00a0must submit a copy of immigration status.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Candidates from institutions of higher education who would have met the admission requirements of high school applicants prior to their university experience will be taken into consideration for transfer admission.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"toggleTitle acco_plus\">Transfer Policy<\/div>\n<div class=\"hide_accordian\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Validation Official refers to the credits established by the Academic Council to validate courses and to the equivalency tables followed by the Department Director.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Validation Official has the authority to validate the first three years of studies, but specialization courses fall on the Department Director.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Validation Instructions:<\/h4>\n1. The equivalence of submitted credits is made according to course content and credits.\n2. Courses approved with a D grade are not validated\nThe following acronyms are used in validation:\nCE \/ Course Exemption \u2013 course is validated; transcript shows proof of student\u2019s knowledge of the subject matter.\nT \/ Transfer \u2013 validated courses from other institutions.\n<h4>Course expiration<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In case of individuals who have not completed a degree, courses taken will expire after seven (7) and a half (\u00bd) years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For courses that follow a sequence, the last approved course will be taken into consideration when requesting an expiration term.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In Mathematics, the expiration date will be set seven (7) and a half (\u00bd) years after the approval of the last course form the sequence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the applicant has been studying on a regular basis, approved courses with more than seven (7) and a half (\u00bd) years could be validated with the recommendation of the Director of the corresponding Program, providing that the course content has not change significantly during those seven (7) and a half (\u00bd) years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The following subjects could be validated after seven (7) years or more with the proper authorization:\na) Social Sciences\nb) Humanities\nc) Languages\nd) Psychology\ne) Arts\n\nf) Economy\ng) Philosophy\nh) History\ni) Political Science\nj) Literature\nk) Other<\/p>\n\n<h4>Validation rules<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All courses with a C grade or more will be validated when coming from universities accredited by the Consejo de Educaci\u00f3n Superior and\/or by any regional accrediting agency (MSACS) or any other institution with a curricula equivalent to PUPR; and whose credits have not expired at the time of submitting the admission application. Credits will be awarded to courses with similar content, approved with a C grade or more, from other properly accredited institutions after judging the entire student\u2019s academic record. Up to two thirds (\u2154) of the total of credits required for the degree could be approved, including no more than half of the credits for the major. The deadline to present any claim is during the first quarter of the student\u2019s enrollment at the Institution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the student wishes to change its major, he\/she will apply for admission into the new department. The Director from that department will review the student\u2019s academic record to make the necessary adjustments to determine which credits could be validated for the new program. Courses approved by properly accredited foreign universities could be validated. Validations will be made through the corresponding form. Transfer students who have been admitted should approve at the PUPR no less than 65% of the credits required for GRADUATION. (In order to be able to receive academic distinctions, such as Honors).<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"border\"><\/div>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Documents<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a class=\"blue-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pupr.edu\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Institutional-Policy-of-Credit-Validation-Transfer-Credit-Policy-Military-Education.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\nInstitutional policy of credit validation <i class=\"fa fa-file-text\"><\/i>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<a class=\"blue-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pupr.edu\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/AGREEMENTS-BETWEEN-THE-UPPR-AND-OTHER-EDUCATIONAL-INSTITUTIONS.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\nAgreement between UPPR and other educational institutions <i class=\"fa fa-file-text\"><\/i>\n<\/a>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"toggle\">\n\n<div class=\"toggleTitle acco_plus\">1. Also, those applicants who are not interested in obtaining an academic degree from PUPR or a grade except for use as professional development course work, are classified as special students. An applicant desiring to enroll as a special student must submit:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. An application for admission.<br>\n2. Payment of thirty dollars ($30.00) non refundable application fee with the completed application form.<br>\n3. Submit an authorization as Special Student.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the person wants to change this classification to a Regular Student, he or she will have to fulfill all the requirements of the Admissions Office, take the prerequisites and obtain C or more. A Special Student does not qualify for financial aid until the classification to Regular Student has been made.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-5594\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Audit Students<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-5594\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-5594\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><div class='widget-content'><h1>Audit Students<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Audit Students are required to submit an admission application and pay a $30.00 non refundable admission fee these students are not interested in earning credits toward a degree, diploma, or certificate They may attend classes as auditors after paying the tuition fees, with authorization of the Faculty Dean and Registrar, but will not receive grades or credit for work done in any subject.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-5595\" aria-expanded=\"false\">International Students<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-5595\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-5595\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><div class='widget-content'>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t    \t<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;International Students<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applicants who are not United States citizens or permanent residents must petition Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico to issue official forms required by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, and upon completion of these forms and acceptance, these applicants will be classified as foreign students. An applicant desiring to enroll as a foreign student must submit the following documents:<\/p>\n\n\t\t<div class=\"toggle\">\n\t\t\t<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t\t<\/p><div class=\"toggleTitle acco_plus\">High School Applicant with Form I-20<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"hide_accordian\">\n\t\t\t\t<br>\n\u2013 An application for admission.<br>\n\u2013 Official certificates of secondary education (high school) graduation and official transcripts of prior academic work. All transcripts must be filed accompanied with a copy of the translation of the transcripts. Translations should be made and validated by a representative of the Department of State of the country of origin or the Consulate in Puerto Rico. A high school student must get an equivalency diploma for the Department of Public Education of Puerto Rico and have a minimum grade point average of 2.50\/4.00 or equivalent for the engineering and architecture programs, or 2.00 for the land surveying and business administration.<br>\n\u2013 Payment of fifty dollars ($50.00) application fee. The application fee is non-refundable.<br>\n\u2013 An immunization certificate under 21 years of age.<br>\n\u2013 All transfer students must submit a recommendation letter.<br>\n\u2013 An official transcript from each institution of Higher Education previously attended. The transcript should be sent directly from the institution of origin to the Admissions Office. Translations should be made and validate by a representative of the Department of State of the country of origin or its consulate in Puerto Rico.<br>\n\u2013 Evidence of the ability to defray all expenses while studying in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n<p>If you have attended College or University in another country, your transcripts will need to evaluated by an independent institution.<\/p>\n<p>The Polythecnic University of Puerto Rico (PUPR) accepts transcript evaluations prepared by World Education Services (WES).
