It aims at assisting the student individually in making appropriate educational, vocational and personal choices. Given the office\u2019s mission of providing registration services, there are a number of related services that must be attended to that assure the integrity of the academic records and recording systems. Counselors assist students individually in making appropriate educational, vocational, and personal choices. The office coordinates assisted institutional services for special needs students.<\/p>\n<p>Course selection is critical to student success; therefore, students should make an appointment with either their program director or registrar to confirm proper course selection prior to registration.<\/p>\n<p>Previously taken courses and the grades earned will be reviewed and analyzed for proper course placement at Polytechnic University Orlando Campus.<\/p>\n<p>Career education awareness is presented at workshops, seminars, colloquiums and receptions with notables. Career awareness and placement activities are incorporated in student life as a pre- step to applying for a summer internship. Internships are optional, but preferred experience for students. There is no guarantee of placement shall be made or implied.<\/p>\n<p>Students are eligible for mentor assistance as another form of a personal career guidance opportunity. Events are designed to foster greater career opportunities as well as recognize students for their academic achievement.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1188\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Student Resources and Information Center Facilities<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1188\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1188\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><h1>Student Resources and Information Center Facilities<\/h1>\n<p>The Orlando Campus Student Resources Information Center (SRIC) is well-equipped for student use. The administrative and technical procedures are operated by the Main Library in San Juan. The SRIC maintains computer-based, basic collections that are strengthened and supported by the Main Library in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which consists of over 65,000 volumes classified according to the Library of Congress Classification System. The Main Library is specialized in land surveying, engineering, architecture and business administration. At the present time, the main library subscribes to over 2,000 periodicals and publications, both general and technical. The SRIC is fully automated in services and administrative procedures. As part of its services, the SRIC offer access to a Local Area CD Room Network, Internet, and other data base services. Also interlibrary loans thru main library campus are used for resources not owned by SRIC. To help students develop information skills and become independent users\/researchers, the SRIC have a literacy skills program, as well as audiovisual equipment.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1189\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Student Online Integrated Services (SOIS)<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1189\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"9\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1189\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><h1>Student Online Integrated Services (SOIS)<\/h1><p>Student Online Integrated Services Center (SOIS), under the Student Success Center, provides a central location (both physically on campus and virtually) for Orlando campus students to access needed online support services. Ten computer terminals equipped with cameras and headphones are available in the Center for students to connect to the online support services. One of the support services available is the Ticket Platform. The ticketing system is a platform that helps streamline online student support services. The Ticketing platform provides all the context the student needs to resolve enrollment, complaints, virtual education, Blackboard, online services, and other issues. Staff from the correspondent office assist them to complete their registration process and to receive the service they requested.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Another online service that the SOIS Center provides is the Handshake platform. <a href=\"https:\/\/joinhandshake.com\/career-centers\/\">Handshake<\/a>\u00a0is the largest early career network in the United States, helping millions of students from all backgrounds get hired and launch their careers with no connections, experience, or luck required. Various virtual events are available through the Handshake platform.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Also, a Mobile Application for the SOIS Center will be implemented soon. The Mobile App will streamline, centralize, and simplify how PUPR-O students access needed support services such as academic counseling services, financial aid, business office transactions, and even communicating with instructors.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"10\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-11810\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Code of Conduct<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-11810\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"10\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-11810\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><h1>Academic and Professional Behavioral Code of Conduct<\/h1>\n<h3>General<\/h3>\nThe purpose of this section is to clarify as much as possible what the student and the University should expect of each other in the area of rights, responsibilities, and conduct.\n\nAll students enrolled at Polytechnic University Orlando Campus assume an obligation to conduct themselves at all times as responsible\n\nmembers of the campus community and respect the personal and property rights of others and the educational mission of the University. Because those who earn a degree ultimately determine the University\u2019s reputation, the University will insist upon its students demonstrating personal and professional integrity in addition to academic excellence.
