Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico – Orlando Campus is honored to announce that one of our own from the Civil Engineering Department, Gerry Traverso received the award of 2015 Engineer of the Year for the Florida Engineering Society, Tampa Chapter.
Gerry Traverso, PE, PMP is a Senior Project Engineer at Grimail Crawford Inc., a Civil Engineering firm in Tampa. He received his Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 1995 and his Master’s Degree in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management in 2007. He is a license Professional Engineer in 11 states and a registered Project Manager Professional (PMP). His work experience include the General Services Administration in Puerto Rico, the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and the private sector here in Tampa. He is a graduate of the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI) class of 2010. Gerry has been a member of FES since 2005 serving as secretary, treasurer, president-elect and Tampa Chapter President in 2013-2014. In addition, from 2012 to 2015, he was the FES State Membership Development Committee Chair. Gerry is also an adjunct professor/instructor at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, Orlando Campus since 2007.
