In 2005, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaccredited the institution, and on November 18, 2010, reaffirmed it. In 2010, Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (PUPR or UPPR) submitted the Periodic Review Report and was commended for the evaluation results. PUPR was reaccredited in 2015. It was reaffirmed in 2024. The next accreditation visit will be in 2031.

National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)

In 2024, NAAB accredited the Bachelor of Architecture. The next accreditation visit will be in 2032.

All 55 United States jurisdictions accept a NAAB-accredited architecture degree as evidence of compliance with education requirements for licensing.

Therefore, an architecture graduate from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico can aspire to be licensed in any state and territory of the United States because NAAB accredits our programs.

Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB)

The Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board granted accreditation to the Master of Landscape Architecture in 2026. The next accreditation visit will be in 2028.

National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA)
Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico (UPPR) has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education.
