As part of the celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (UPPR) announced the signing of a strategic collaborative agreement with BMA Group, a leading talent solutions firm, aimed at promoting joint training, employability, and professional development initiatives. These initiatives will be implemented at the University’s San Juan campuses and in Orlando, Florida.
This alliance reaffirms UPPR’s institutional commitment to developing competitive talent in both local and international contexts by integrating the efforts of specialized units such as Centro IDEA and ASCEND focused on employability, innovation, and professional development with BMA Group’s expertise in recruitment, labor market trends, and talent management.
Through this agreement, academic and professional initiatives will be developed for students and alumni from both campuses, fostering high-impact experiences that strengthen key competencies, facilitate the transition into the workforce, and promote direct connections with employers and real employment opportunities in Puerto Rico and the United States.
The collaboration includes training programs, professional development activities, and joint projects designed to respond to current labor market demands, aligned with the economic and professional realities of both jurisdictions.
“This collaboration reaffirms our commitment to employability and continuous professional development, ensuring that our academic initiatives respond effectively to the evolving needs of the labor market, both in Puerto Rico and in the United States. As part of our strategic vision, we continue to strengthen alliances with industry, the community, and government, convinced that these partnerships are essential to fostering opportunity, innovation, and sustainable development,” said Ernesto Vázquez Martínez, President of the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.
Additionally, the partnership will enable the expansion of strategic initiatives focused on professional development, skills enhancement, and competency validation, further positioning the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico as an effective bridge between higher education and the world of work at both local and international levels.
“At BMA Group, we firmly believe that education is power and that employability begins when academic preparation is aligned with the realities of the labor market. This alliance with the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico represents a concrete step toward closing that gap by integrating technical knowledge, human skills, and real-world work experiences,” said Brenda Marrero, CEO of BMA Group.
Through this alliance, the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico continues to expand its network of strategic partners and reaffirms its vision of preparing highly qualified professionals ready to compete and contribute in the global labor market.
