The Program of Educational Services of the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico was established on November 1984. Since then, we have had categorical success in student retention. This program is supported by federal funds from the US Departmen of Education in Washington. It is appointed to the Caribbean Program Association (Asociación Caribeña de Programas TRIO), which gathers federally funded educational programs from Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. We currently service 230 students.
Our main goal is to provide help in the subjects of Spanish, Math, English, Physics and Copmuters, to help you develop the intellectual potential necessary to complete your university courses. We also foster integral grouth through personal, vocational and academic counseling and guidance.
As part of co-curricular activities, we invite you to join our Program and take part in socio-cultural activities, such as conferences on various topics, museum visits, music concerts, theatre plays, and trips to historically and culturally relevant locations.
We also promote activities that help you develop your creative talents and skills. Our purpose is to help you make the most of the services offered by PUPR in our determination to educate and train the generation of tomorrow. All of our services are free of cost.
To increase the retention and graduation rates of participating students and help them transition after graduation.
30% of new students will obtain a Bachelor’s degree in 6 years.
85% of serviced students will remain enrolled next academic year and/or will graduate or transfer to a 4-year institution.
85% of services students will comply with institutional academic performance standards or GPA.
Students who wish to profit from the Program services must be American citizens or be permanent residents in the US, prove academic necessity, and fulfill one or more of the following criteria for eligibility:
